Philip is a communications strategist and qualified lawyer. He has been ranked by Chambers for seven consecutive years as a top-tier litigation consultant, and has advised on complex legal actions, crises and campaigns across multiple jurisdictions. He has also worked with some of the world’s leading international foundations and philanthropies, advising on often challenging cross-border issues.
Before founding Thorndon, Philip was Managing Director at global consultancy Portland, where he led the International team and founded and led the specialist Litigation and Disputes practice. Before Portland, he was Head of Digital at Finsbury Glover Hering, where he advised multi-national companies and organisations on the impact of new digital platforms and technology.
Philip is qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand, and has a Master’s degree (LL.M Hons) in international public law.
